Google has officially launched a native version of Google Drive for Arm-powered PCs, including those equipped with last year’s Snapdragon X Elite and X Plus chips.
In a blog post, the company announced that the Drive app for Windows is now “generally available” for Snapdragon X chipsets. This release follows a beta testing phase that began last year.
The update supports devices from several major brands, most notably the latest Microsoft Surface laptops.

With this Arm-based Drive port, users can also access their accounts directly through the Windows File Explorer app, simplifying the process of retrieving files from their Drive storage.
The native app is compatible only with devices running Windows 11 and Microsoft WebView2. Beta users will automatically receive an upgrade to the full version.
While the rollout begins today, it may take up to 15 days for all users to gain access. The new app is available to Google Workspace customers, Workspace Individual Subscribers, and those with personal Google accounts.
