McDonald’s has officially confirmed that the beloved Snack Wrap will be returning to its menu nationwide on Thursday, July 10. After years of fan requests and anticipation, the fast-food giant shared the news with USA TODAY.
The returning Snack Wrap will feature McDonald’s new McCrispy Strips—tender, all-white meat chicken strips—combined with shredded lettuce and cheese, all wrapped in a soft flour tortilla. The snack-sized item aims to rekindle nostalgic tastebuds and reignite enthusiasm among long-time fans.
Two Flavorful Options and a Fan Hub Celebrate Snack Wrap’s Triumphant Return Online
Customers will be able to choose from two flavor varieties: Spicy and Ranch. The Spicy Snack Wrap features a bold, zesty flavor with a distinctive habanero kick, channeling the heat fans associate with the Spicy McCrispy sandwich. Meanwhile, the Ranch version offers a rich, savory experience, highlighted by hints of garlic and onion in its creamy ranch sauce.

McDonald’s will allow customers to order the Snack Wrap on its own or as part of a combo meal, which includes two Snack Wraps, medium fries, and a drink of choice.
To mark the return of this much-missed menu item, McDonald’s has launched a dedicated fan site: snackwrapfiles.com. This digital platform is described as a “VIP entry” to all things Snack Wrap, hosting fan content, merchandise ideas, and other creative tributes.
According to the homepage, new content will be added weekly, inviting fans to stay engaged and celebrate the long-awaited comeback. The interactive site reflects the brand’s recognition of its loyal customers, many of whom campaigned for the wrap’s return.
Snack Wrap’s Legacy and Popeyes’ Timely Entry into the Chicken Wrap Arena
Originally introduced in 2006, the Snack Wrap quickly became a popular choice due to its portability and lighter profile. Over the years, it underwent several iterations featuring both grilled and crispy chicken. However, it was discontinued in 2016 amid operational complexities and changing menu priorities.
Despite its removal from the national menu, fans never stopped asking for its return, creating petitions and generating thousands of social media posts. McDonald’s acknowledged that this fan dedication played a pivotal role in its comeback.
Interestingly, Popeyes also announced the release of its own Chicken Wraps just days before McDonald’s Snack Wrap return. Debuting on June 2, Popeyes’ wraps feature hand-breaded chicken tenders, shredded cheese, lettuce, and crunchy pickles inside a tortilla inspired by their famous biscuits.
Priced at $3.99, they come in Classic, Spicy, and Honey Mustard flavors. To complement the wraps, Popeyes is also launching a new range of blueberry-infused beverages, including chilled and frozen blueberry lemonade and sweet teas. These new offerings will be available for a limited time at participating locations.
