Apple is reportedly working on the next generation of its Studio Display, with Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman revealing that two new models might be in development. Gurman, who has previously discussed a potential update to the 2022 Studio Display, now mentions that sources have confirmed the existence of a second new monitor, in addition to the first model, which is code-named J427. The second model is referred to as J527.
The current 27-inch Studio Display was introduced three years ago, priced at $1,599, while the Pro Display XDR, a more premium option, was launched two years earlier at $5,000. Given the age of both models, it’s clear that Apple is looking to update its display lineup. Gurman speculates that the company could be working on two different models, with one potentially being selected for release, or it might release a second model with different screen sizes or specifications.
