Apple Reportedly Developing Two Next-Gen Studio Displays to Refresh Aging Lineup

Apple is reportedly working on the next generation of its Studio Display, with Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman revealing that two new models might be in development. Gurman, who has previously discussed a potential update to the 2022 Studio Display, now mentions that sources have confirmed the existence of a second new monitor, in addition to the first model, which is code-named J427. The second model is referred to as J527.

The current 27-inch Studio Display was introduced three years ago, priced at $1,599, while the Pro Display XDR, a more premium option, was launched two years earlier at $5,000. Given the age of both models, it’s clear that Apple is looking to update its display lineup. Gurman speculates that the company could be working on two different models, with one potentially being selected for release, or it might release a second model with different screen sizes or specifications.

Apple’s Studio Display Refresh with Two New Models for Diverse Market Segments

As Apple prepares to refresh its display offerings, the two models under development could cater to different segments of the market. While one model may maintain the current screen size or features, the second could offer something new, such as a different display size or enhanced specifications, appealing to a broader range of customers. Apple’s strategy might involve evaluating both options before making a final decision on which to release.

The rumors suggest that Apple is keen to update its Studio Display lineup, and the decision may come down to which model best suits the current market demands. With competition in the high-end monitor space heating up, Apple’s next display release could offer notable improvements in design, performance, and features, further strengthening its position in the premium display market.
