SHOUJO KAGEKI REVUE STARLIGHT – FILM WILL BE DELAYED DUE TO THE PANDEMIC

On the official website of the Bushiroad multimedia project, Shoujo Kageki Revue Starlight, it was announced that the franchise’s animated film premiere was postponed until June 4 in Japan due to the state of emergency due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The film’s premiere was scheduled for May 21.

This film is separate from the Shoujo Kageki Revue Starlight: Rondo Rondo Rondo project, which was a compilation and was released in August 2020 in Japan.

Synopsis:
The story revolves around 9 students who attend the prestigious Seishou Music Academy. One day, each girl receives a mysterious email inviting them to fulfill their dreams, becoming a “star” on the stage, resulting in a battle royale competition where the girls try to prove who is the best idol, actress, singer, etc.

Animated by Kinema Citrus, directed by Tomohiro Furukawa (Brothers Conflict), written by Tatsuto Higuchi (CROSS ANGE Rondo of Angel and Dragon, Schwarzes Marken), and character design by Hiroyuki Saita (Kuma Miko: Girl Meets Bear, My mental choices are completely interfering with my school romantic comedy).

Bushiroad officially announced the franchise in April 2017 with a musical work and animation project. The musical entitled Shoujo ☆ Kageki Revue Starlight The LIVE, promoted as “a live musical in 2.5 dimensions”, was presented in Tokyo in September 2017. The twelve-episode anime series debuted in July 2018.
